School Council
The students at Dove House Academy have a voice through the Student Council.
Each tutor group is represented by a child that has been elected in by their classmates, to represent them and their views. It is a way for pupils to have their views taken into account in decisions which may impact upon them, for example menu selection for school dinners. Through the Council, pupils have the opportunity to improve many aspects of school life and discuss activities which may include whole school competitions linked with our Inter House scheme, special projects and guest visits. The School Council is also an important and useful way for pupils to start developing leadership skills. The Student Council discusses different topics, such as things that pupils would like to be able to take part in at school and new equipment. A number of fundraising activities including a school disco have been organised in order to purchase friendship benches.
